In a move towards greater transparency and empowering homebuyers in the real estate market, the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has issued an order mandating the display of Quick Response (QR) codes in all promotions and advertisements related to real estate projects registered with MahaRERA. The order aims to provide easy access to project-related information for homebuyers and enhance their ability to make informed decisions.

Introduction of QR Codes:

To enhance accessibility to project-related information, MahaRERA has introduced QR codes for each registered project. QR codes are unique codes that can be scanned using a software application to retrieve specific information related to a project. The use of QR codes aims to simplify and streamline the process of accessing relevant information for homebuyers.

Key Directions of the Order:

Prominent Display of QR Codes:

Promoters are directed to prominently display QR codes on all project promotions and advertisements published after August 1, 2023.

Legibility and Readability:

QR codes should be published in a legible, readable, and detectable manner using a software application.

Coexistence with Registration Number and Website Address:

QR codes must be published alongside the MahaRERA Registration Number and the Website Address.

Mediums of Promotion:

The mandate for QR code display applies to various mediums, including newspapers, magazines, printed flyers, brochures, catalogues, websites, social media advertisements, standees on project sites, sales offices, and any other medium as directed by the Authority.

Conclusion:

The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority's order mandating the display of QR codes in real estate advertisements reflects its commitment to transparency and providing comprehensive information to homebuyers. By introducing QR codes, MahaRERA aims to simplify access to project-related information, empowering homebuyers to make well-informed decisions.
